Found On: Illmatic (1994)People rarely mention it, but a rapper's appeal is often in tone more than anything. Nas has a great tone, suited perfectly to the mannered old-school sample. One might question a 20-year-old's capacity for nostalgia (I was plenty nostalgic at that age) but you can't deny his flow.
